This month ENGEO offices in New Zealand have made a conscious change to become a Fairtrade supporting workplace, through stocking Fairtrade-certified products.
ENGEO strives to be a socially responsible company and by using Fairtrade products employees are now making a daily positive impact, while still enjoying quality consumables.
Through purchasing Fairtrade-certified products, ENGEO is taking specific action for an environmentally responsible and socially just world. Thanks to the Fairtrade certification system, the products now found in ENGEO offices carry with them the assurance that the worker’s rights and children are protected, the environment is preserved and a minimum price along with a fair trade premium is paid in order to invest back into the development of the community.
Lisa Lowe, ENGEO Christchurch’s Office Administrator who arranged the switch described the change as ‘an easy opportunity for employees to make a tangible impact. Alongside ENGEO’s already established recycling habits, making the change into Fairtrade products is the obvious next step towards making our office more socially and environmentally responsible’.
