A Message From Our CEO

As we mark our 15th anniversary, we are filled with immense pride and gratitude for the journey we have undertaken together. From our humble beginnings in 2010, when we were known as Geoscience Consulting, to our transformation into ENGEO a few years later, our story is one of growth, innovation, and unwavering commitment to technical excellence.

When I first joined ENGEO in 2012, we were a small team with big dreams. Our focus was on providing top-notch geotechnical, geological, environmental, and hydrogeology consulting services. Despite our size, we were driven by a shared passion for geology and engineering with a commitment to making a positive impact on our communities. Those early days were marked by a spirit of collaboration and a relentless pursuit of excellence.

Today, ENGEO has grown into a leading engineering consulting firm with over 400 dedicated professionals across New Zealand, Australia, and the United States. Our team has tackled some of the most complex engineering challenges, delivering innovative solutions that have made a lasting impact. The growth we have experienced is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and expertise of our incredible team.

This anniversary is a significant milestone for me both personally and professionally. It is a moment to reflect on the incredible journey we have been on and to celebrate the achievements we have made together. Personally, it fills me with immense pride to see how far we have come and the positive impact we have had on our communities and for our clients. Professionally, it reaffirms my belief in the power of collaboration, team culture, and a shared passion for excellence.

Looking ahead, our vision for ENGEO’s future is one of continued growth and prosperity for our clients and the communities in which we serve. We remain committed to our core values and our mission to deliver high-quality, specialised engineering solutions with astounding service. The future holds many significant and exciting opportunities, and I am confident that, with our talented team and the support of our loyal clients and partners, we will continue to push boundaries and achieve new heights.

Here’s to the past 15 years of success and to many more years of innovation, growth, and excellence. Thank you for being a part of our journey.

“Before we started Geoscience we had a plan to create a company that people wanted to be a part of because they could work hard and get ahead. We also wanted people to want to come to work because it was fun and challenging. My overwhelming feeling when I look back on those times is one of optimism and a sense that we were going to do great things. There was a feeling that we were building an organisation that would provide a path to fulfillment, growth and prosperity for those who were willing to get on board. The vast majority of people who have been part of the ENGEO team over the years have been committed to ensuring the success of their colleagues, and while people will always come and go I hope everyone that has been part of ENGEO is a better person for the experience. Suffice to say I’ve had the joy of working with so many wonderful people and forming friendships with many. It’s important to add that it hasn’t all been smooth sailing, but like any family we work past our differences and grow because of them. I very much appreciate the lessons I learnt during my time as MD and the support I received in the tough times from those closest to me.”

Co-founder

“When I joined ENGEO’s Auckland office 10 years ago it almost felt like joining a start-up. We were established in Christchurch but our presence in Auckland was still quite new at this time, in particular the environmental team as I was the first dedicated environmental engineer in Auckland. We now have over 40 technical staff in Auckland, 10 of which are environmental staff. Nationally we are one of the largest specialist geotechnical and environmental teams. However this growth isn’t a reflection of us chasing some target size, rather it is a direct result of our client’s demand for our expertise, solution-focused advice and astounding service.”
