The San Ramon Regional Medical Center site is located within the 1,050-acre Canyon Lakes area developed by Blackhawk Corporation. The plan included an acute care hospital of one and two stories; a one-story rehabilitation hospital; three medical office buildings of three stories each; access roads and parking; and extensive landscaping. ENGEO performed the following services:
- A detailed soil and geologic study
- Recommendations for building pad preparation, deep and shallow foundations, pavement, and retaining walls
- Mass grading testing and observation
- Design and observation of the installation of deep keyways excavated into native rock materials to provide a stable base for the fill slope
- Deep foundation construction observation
- Design of numerous subdrains and a system of erosion control swales
- Stormwater management recommendations
